I picked this guy up about 20 years ago and find any information on him. I figured he must be handmade or one of a kind. I saw an all black one recently so now I havve to know what he is.
He has a soft hard stuffed body
Red felt ears and mane.
There is a hole punched in one ear indicating it may be a Steiff?
Has a music box sewn into belly
Looks like he had button eyes at one point.
His coat feels like mohair
Measures approx 12"

He does not look like a stieff and his fur that I can't touch does not seem to me mohair . He most likely had plastic eyes at one time . Look Factory made , maybe Knickerbocker ? Appears to date from 50's . Very Cute little piece of history
I went back and bought the black one! Imagine finding a matching one after twenty years! He also has a music box, red felt and a hole punched in the ear. I will post his picture tomorrow. There is one on EBAY that looks like a manufactured repo of this one. Definately not the same.
