I have a very interesting antique copper/copperplated stack container. I have attached pics. It has three oblong bowl type containers and one lid. These are held in place with a handle device by tall brass pins on the side. The close up shows what seem to be a finger hold on either side of the lid. Just wonder what it is ????

I agree with ROB I think your missing two lids. You would be able to stack the three dishs and clamp them in place to carry them.
