This is one of many dolls that belong to my great aunt. She was worked for the US government in Japan in the early 1940's. My mother has told me that she remembers the dolls when she was first dating my father in 1946.
She has a silk hand painted face, silk arms and hands.
I would love it if someone could tell me something about this doll.

Beautiful Geisha doll from Japan. Many of these came home during war the soliders bought them for mothers, wives ect . They were dressed in costumes that have a story but not being from Japan I don't know who she might represent . They are still being made today for as a novelty ot tourist doll.
