This was a Birthday gift from my Godfather when I was 17. He was very close to Peter Beard. I met Peter only a couple of times as a teen, but he was gracious enough to make it seem like we were pals in his inscription. This is such a powerful and disturbing view of "The Game", ie: The Hunt, Poaching and Decimation of Elephants in East Africa. Peter Beard was indeed a "Photo-Journalist", and there were many who found his work very threatening to their livelihood, he lived a dangerous life in the savannas and poaching country. I have always treasured this book, but there are certain photos of elephants, my favorite animal, that I can not look at. He was a powerful voice for the Preservation of Wild Elephants. A truly "honorable" man. Mich
