When I found this piece, it was advertised as a "flask". At 4.5" tall and 4" wide, the dealer found it too large to be an inkwell. The domed top bears no markings, but does appear in other inkwells in my collection. And luckily, I found a well to fit. It does stand head and shoulders above the others!
In the last photo, a size and decor comparison. The smaller inkwell is 3" tall and has a layer of purple glass cased in iridescent clear.
