This is a really cool old-fashioned Oak US Post Office bank of mailboxes and Teller Window made by the Thomas Kane & Co. from the 1880s. The really really cool thing about this is the original handcrafted cash drawer with coin bowls that accompanies this unit. The original brass plate from the Thoms Kane & Co. is on the front, underneath the Teller Window. We also found an old envelope from the 1880s on ebay from Thomas Kane & Co., manufacturer of Victor Folding and Stationer Top Desks, Opera Chairs, Office Furniture, with a Bank, Court House and Office Fittings picture of a Bank Teller Window on the back. The postmark on this envelope from the Chicago Post Office is "Chicago, IL, October 29, 1880 at 6:30 pm."

MADE OF SOLID OAK, THIS VINTAGE POST OFFICE WINDOW MEASURES 77 1/2" LONG, 46" TALL AND 9" WIDE, BUT AT THE LEDGE BY THE TELLER'S WINDOW, IT S 16" WIDE. THIS IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION CONSIDERING THE AGE.

We now have this built into a new wall in our Parcels store at 12003 South Pulaski Rd., Alsip, IL. It is the center-piece focal point in our store and we are very proud to have it on display. It's simply incredible.

Hi, I have a similar piece of history, what is it worth? All original, nothing broken or missing.
