Often one of the unsung heroes of WW11, a helmet worn by a nurse at the Royal Air Force Hospital on Silloth RAF airfield in Cumberland and Westmorland. Helmet was needed as it was bombed a few times. Two holes in the rim denote lower grade steel. The helmet has also been overpainted in a darker lacquer to subdue its original bright white colour.
