I was wondering what this is, is it rare and how much it is worth. The backmark is a green M (for Morimura, the name of the brothers who started the company in 1876) surrounded by a wreath which identifies it as 1910-1911. Above it is written "Hand Painted" and below is written "Nippon". It has a blue speckled glaze inside the bowl with a gold rim and butterfly motif. Sides and bottom are white. Also known as Noritake porcelain. It cost my brother 60 cents.

It is very pretty. Better pictures would help.
Although this picture looks like an advert, so kind of cool...

This is really odd, do you know some else that has one of these?

What are the odds of having two identical pieces posted within 20 hours of each other? Very pretty but just struck me as unusual.

I see your point. I'm not necessarily looking to sell it. I can't imagine it's worth much. The value is just another layer of information. I love finding something that I know nothing about and then trying to learn more about it. I had never even heard of Noritake china a week ago!

They might be able to help you far more than anyone on CW..
We love to see your pretty things tho.......

Thanks Pop_abides and AR8Jason! I sent an email to Noritake and posted on their FB page. I hope to find out something soon!

In Show and Tell under Darthom. It's three pics from different angles.
