Sheet music and words to Popeye songs. I forget the date on this, but it's probably from the very early 1930's. I'd seen a few come and go on Ebay and decided I'd make one mine some day. So, I did. It's in really great shape and has Popeye illustrations all throughout. I should take some photos or scans of the inside.
I collect sheet music and usually try to scoop up anything related to early American animation along those lines. I have a few Disney pieces, too.

Yes, it's a great graphic representation of cacophony! Popeye and Olive Oil have very distinctive voices, so one can only imagine them singing together (terrible!).
I'm Popeye the sailor man. I'm strong to the finich cuz I eat all may spinach. I'm Popeye the sailor man. This is how my mom got me to eat "spinach". Now it happens to be one of my favorite vegetables.
I watched a later production of the Popeye cartoons as a kid and that never swayed me. My mom (this was the 70's) would heat up canned or frozen spinach as a side for dinner and recommended a splash of vinegar, which we had on the dinner table. To me, it was a sour pile of mushy green vegetables. It was only decades later, working in good restaurants, that I realized the value of properly served (cooked or raw) spinach. It is also now my favorite green vegetable. My absolute favorite Indian dish is curried spinach (palak paneer). No thanks to Popeye!
