I bought this about 1o years ago at a local yard sale. I seldom wear it as I'm afraid I'll loose it. I thought it was from the 40's, but after using google to research clasps, it may date to early 1900's as the site said this type of clasp was not good as the pin was longer then the brooch & often snagged the fabric. It may be gold or gold plate, never had it checked.
