A standard British WW11, mk11 steel helmet with applied thick cammo paint. Different theatres of war usually meant different styles of cammo, this, I think, was northern France.

Hi Pete I have in my collection what would appear to be the brother to this particular Mk II .
would you be kind enough to share a little more info such as the helmet body manufacturer and the production date my example as well has had the texturered camo paint applied over a smooth finished shell so IMO not a standard army issued Mk II and was very probably issued to one of the other services there is period evidence in the form of images that supports this type of pattern was worn in Northern Italy and Sicily and the likes as well.
I will try and post up my example later today or tomorrow morning for comparison.

    Regards Mark

kozowy1967, thanks for the love, at the moment all my helmets are in boxes as I look to move house, when I get sorted I will gladly take a closer look and let you know the details.

Thanks Petey I have an interesting image of a British soldier driving a troop carrier landing on the Beach at Sicily.
He is wearing IMO a helmet that is the spitting image to your example.

    Regards Mark
