Hi, I got this watch at a thrift store for $3.00, it runs and looks to be in good shape. The woman said it needed a new battery, I knew it was a windup but she said people want ones with batteries. The watch works say Le Coutre & Co. unajusted swiss seventeen 17 jewels K490/8(or)BW 1280219. inside of back case says cased & timed in USA by Le Coutre 495-668 1726319 I am hoping someone can tell me the age, where it was made, value, etc. Thanks, I love old watches!

Hi,
This watch is very nice! I can tell you that it is once again a very valuable maker, indeed made in Switzerland, but the maker was maybe German. I have not seen many (if any) Le Coultre watches, but I now that their clocks, (the most famous ones that I know of are Atmos, travel and alarm) bring very good money, and I'm quite sure that the watches do as well ! :) Thanks!
Hi again,
I also forgot to say that the value of old mechanical watches can be determined by the amount of jewels, I was told. Thanks again! :)
