    RYNNE TANTON LIDDED CRACKLE JAR
A Vinnies find two months ago is this nicely potted spherical jar and cover with deeply fissured surface. Born in New Zealand in 1944 Rynne trained as a teacher in New Zealand teaching himself pottery as part of an art elective. After training at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology he was offered a job teaching at the Launceston Art School and has remained there for 24 years. He and Bernadine Alting now run the Underwood Pottery studio just outside Launceston, Tasmania, Australia. He is well known for his crackle glazes, but has now diversified into crystalline glazes.
    13.5 cm ( 5.3" )high and 13.5 cm ( 5.3" )in diameter.

Dutch and Oz Crackle: I've put it next to a piece of crackle glass: a Sonoor vase by Andries Dirk Copier for Leerdam.

I've been collecting contemporary pottery and glass too!

And so many things to thank you for too, Amber!
The blue is really vibrant. I think it's a Tasmanian thing.

He's on this youtube explaining some of his more recent pieces. He's a bit heavy handed!

It's like the inflation was halted when it acheived just the right proportion to the top.
I think it's beautiful, love the colors,...........and what a nice size
      really a handsome piece.

Many thanks Budek! What I've not worked put is how and when the blue was applied. I've seen how the crackle is achieved, but not the when. What I have not shown is inside the pot: it's that blue too!
