Yesterday I purchased this Mack Dumptruck because I wanted to upgrade the one in my collection by adding the box.
However, when I got home and checked which model was better, I discovered the black grill on the new model.
After checking more detailed I saw the new model had grey paint to detail headlights, doorhandles, gastank, wheels and some other parts.
Can anybody tell me if I have been screwed with a code 3 model?

I don't think you got screwed.. but it's kind of subjective. Both of yours have the Superfast wheels, so they were produced between 1970-73 or later. The only downside is that model with the black is one generation of production later than the all-silver model. Even with that, though, both look like they were never played with (or hardly ever) and you should be fine as far as value/collectible value/etc.
Thanks aycockonxion, It's a relieve to know it is an actual production model.
I have looked and looked o Ebay and never really found one with the black grill and grey highlight, so I really thought it would have been done by someone with too much time on his hands.
I also bought a second hand Ramseys guide recently from a few years back., so not a recent issue or the newest one, and in this issue there is no mention on this black grill truck at all. Hense my worries.
So for my collection I will keep the one with silver grill and get rid of the black grill later.
Which is good, because the silver one was the one I got as a kid and yes it has hardly been played with. Or at least carefully played with as all my models are.
Thanks again, I have some more questions about Matchbox models, so when I have time I'll take some pictures and post them.
Hope to read from you again.
