What you see here is a rare item as it is a evidence of the discrimination of Jews during the Nazi area in Germany. All passports of Jews were stamped by law with such a big red "J" for Jew. Some were lucky and could escape like this lady to Chile. Others died in Concentration camps. This passport was issued in August 1939 just few weeks before WWII. During the war it was almost impossible for Jews to get valid documents and for many it was their death sentence...
