No clock this time, but a huge original casting, beautiful Art Deco Sculpture by Alexandre Ouline of a youth pulling out a stump. It was cast in France / Belgium, ca. 1920s, It is in fantastic condition with a beautiful patina of age and a few minor edge nibbles to the base. It is cold painted metal sculpture on a stunning base of red (my favorite color) marble and creamy white onyx with metal bar accents and is signed: (Alexandre) OULINE. This work is sometimes attributed to Jean De Rancourt.
The sculpture measures approx. 27.5 inches long, 22 inches high and / 7.5 inches deep, and the total weight is 48.5 lbs (my back is still sore). It was purchased from a vendor in Aachen Germany.
It now resides on my fireplace hearth on the left hand side of the fire box (stump/log get it). He does have a nice patina, a attractive addition to my Art Deco collection.

Yes it looks like a lot of the Rancourt ones I have seen recently for sale. The best statues are from France and still where a lot of them are right now. This is a fine piece !~Phil.
