    Rotate the large bowls so that the simplest mark is top right. The marks read top down and right to left: ‘Great Ming Hsijan Te (Xuande) Period Make’ (1426 –35). Marks are helpful but as a general rule are the last thing you should trust while trying to establishing a date on a particular piece of Chinese porcelain. These are likely from the last century. The mark on the smaller piece is not a Ming Dynasty mark, and I have not been able to locate it in references.
