Love it, but I still don't think it looks like amethyst in the photos! I always think of amethyst as a lighter, gem-like purple. I tend to forget it can go really dark, just like sapphire can be pale or dark. And my eyes aren't what they were now I've turned 40...

ive always called this amethyst..have always seen it described as such as well.. if im wrong, no ones botherd to correct me..

I very much doubt you are wrong. I'm showing my ignorance again. Again! Ah well, I'll just call it learning ; )

Sean, The line drawing says it all.. no, it is not the same shape but the decor and ground color is enough for me to believe! #documentation.

No, I over looked this when it was there all along!... We need to realize there were other producers of this glass other than Kralik and Welz!

Thanks Idcloisonne, You are correct, I have forgotten to edit this post since the last time it was under discussion... Kralik is likely the correct attribution..but as you can see, Ruckl made these as well.. that is why one should NEVER put a positive ID on czech art deco era glass made for export because everyone made it and copied each others designs / shapes etc.

Very true! For whatever reasons, Ruckl glass is being swept under the rug! there is more documentation on Ruckl glass then say Franz Welz.. but yet EVERTHING is being attributed to Welz.. makes NO sense!!!

Both Truitt books are worth having

Well said, idcloisonne. Not too long ago all art deco Czech glass was automatically attributed to Welz or Kralik.
