Barbed wire Formee Cross patented by John Stubbe, Pittsburgh, PA on October 23, 1883, patent #287,337. This variation has two ridges on one side of the sheet metal plate. Suppose it was meant to strenthen the barb. Could have been all the sheet metal available at the time. The ridges are not mentioned in the patent.
