I bought this American clock from a vendor in Beautiful Rhine Germany, It is in pristine condition, no oramentation has been lost, and the BakeLite is not chipped or cracked. I guess it was packed away because Europe's electrical grid is 220 volt and this clock would be a 120 volt.
The Model 700 "Electrolarm" was a popular model, and was produced in walnut (brown), ivory (white) and jade (green) cases. According to official Telechron sales documents, 27,013 brown Model 700 clocks were sold, while only 4012 white and green clocks combined were produced and sold by Telechron. This is one of the 27,013 produced and sold, making it one of the more common Telechron models (I have an Ivory one also). It was NOT designed by Paul Frankl it appeared in advertisement on a page next to one of the "Moderne" which stated that the "Moderne" was designed by Paul Frankl, The page with the "Electroalam" made no such statement.
The clock measures 7 5/8 inches x 6 inches x 3 5/8 inches. This clock originally sold for $25.00 in 1929-31, which is the equivalent of $354.48 in 2010 dollars. The original female cord is missing but the female end of the plug is present. Currently this clock is making its way over from Germany to Texas. Can't wait to get it.
