Well I flew up to Eugene for the annual OKCA knife collectors show last weekend and bought and traded for some real beauties.
First up, at the top in pic 1. is a Shapleigh Hardware DE Barlow Jack in very worn jigbone, I'm carrying it now.
Second is Schrade Cut Co. Jack in unused condition, notice the jigging has not been worn down from hand or pocket wear.
Third is a Camillus Easy Open Jack in jigbone. These 3 knives are all pre ww2.
Second pic is a Brantford Cutlery Co. notice anything odd about this one?
Tell me if you do.
Third pic is a Primble Belknap Waterfall Jack MINTY!
Forth pic is a group of Jiffy Jack Imperials from the 1950s. Two of these were sent to a buddy of mine in NC, he's as crazy about them as I am and I told him I would look for some at the show.

Thanks Kevin, The Brantford Cut Co is unusual because you don't normally see a Clip blade on an EO knife. Most EOs have a Spear blade! This blade setup is original from the factory on this knife, however the EO notch was added later because while looking closer last weekend, I could see grind marks, unpolished, inside the liners where the notch was cut out.
So this knife was not made as an EO, just a Jack pattern, from the factory. Someone added the notch later. Schrade made millions of different handles on his knives, that one just happens to be unused. Jiffys are easy to find but not in these colors. Finding a Primble knife, or any knife with Waterfall celluloid handles that hasn't gassed out is rare.
Thanks Kerry!
No need to hate them Kevin, I too have been burned by the gasses before but the key is to leave them out in the open air, on an open shelf and the like. No guarantees but your odds improve a little anyway. Shells are not as big a deal with gassing out as solid cells are. I truly believe that some shrink and some gas out, it's a roll of the dice at best. The Jiffys I bought cost me only 10 bucks a knife. Probably worth to the savvy collector, who needs these rare colors, 30 bucks a piece. Sounds like you found a cool display case, just don't put any solid cells in there!
Hey thanks BELLIN and Michael!
