I have been using the nitro solvent on this one also, with good results. Another 100 years and I may see an end to cleaning these things. As long as I have them I may as well at least try cleaning them up.
Would gun oil work OK to oil them???

Thanks for all the info AR8, I do have 3 in 1 for when the time comes. I was just to lazy to go get it.
This one has the 1946 - 1956 marking. In fact both of the Camillus that were in the box had the same marking.
I was ready to throw the box away and something rattled inside it. Under the flap there was another little white/pearl handled pocket knife. I don't think the original owner was a collector more a hoarder from the condition.
I was offered $75 for this knife this morning. I am starting to think someone wants it more than I do.
