British pre WW11 "experimental" steel helmet , similar to one posted earlier, a different type of test chin strap fixing using WW1 split rivets. No markings on the helmet, and the manufacturer name on the liner has been machined out to hide the identity of the factory/maker. This helmet still has an original folded document under the liner, mentions the Midland Bank, ( I have not had the courage to try and get it out, may be instructions on helmet usage or copy patent? I dont know). The S on the front normally means Salvage, for example the recovery of scrap metal/aircraft etc. However, may also be for Security, with the document inside relating to the Midland Bank, obviously cash still had to be transported to banks and so may relate to this.
