This is an A.H. Payne Steel Etching I purchased in London in the late 1990's. I later had it framed here in the States. It's circa 1870. I bought it because it spoke to me, not for any potential worth, but I am curious now if it has any. Apparenlty, he was fairly famous for his etchings. This one says Printed and Published by A.H. Payne, Leipzig and Dresden. The title is The Angels of God Ascending and Descending. I think I might have paid 20 pounds for it at the time. Anyone know much about this guy or his work?
