    Forty years ago we were given this oak desk by a neighbor. She said it was in their family 200 years, and was originally on a ship. I'd like to hear from anyone who could tell us more information.

      I agree with Chuck and would call the style of it similar to a "plantation desk".

      Not 200 years old. Looks like late 19th century construction and some of the interior drawers may be replaced-- they appear to be oak.
