It's surely from Italy and it's for a motorbike over 125cc. I can say that because I'm actually Italian. Unfortunately you can't tell from which part of Italy it is beacuse they are the same in all the country. The series began with AA 00000, then AA 00001 and so on.
I forgot to add that this kind of plates was produced from 1994 to 1999, so it's not particularly old
