It is a little known fact that during the Tango period Loetz produced functional tableware in some of its characteristic colors. Oddly enough, some of them bear the oval 20's mark. The two sherberts have it (pic. 1).
The accompanying plate (pic 2) does not. and then I was lucky enough to stumble across an open salt sold as "opaline Victorian" (as generic a term as terms can possible get). The pontil is almost as large as the piece itself (pic. 4). It bears British hallmarks: JG&S Anchor, Lion and W. The initials correspond to John Grinsell & Sons. I have tentatively read the mark as Birmingham 1918, but I may be wrong.
Other Loetz tableware colors include green, orange and periwinkle blue.

Hi Alfredo. The 'w' would be 1921 if it is lower case, if upper then surprisingly 1946.
I think it is lower case. 1921 would be dead on target.
May I ask, if the plate or underplate for the sherbet has a thin black line ? Is it applied as paint or is it black glass like the stem on the sherbet? The colour is wonderful. I have seen a few pieces in orange and black but this pink is totally new to me. Thank you again.
I only have one single Tango dish without the black applied line. All of the others have it, and it is not painted. it is applied glass. When you see painted black enamel rather than glass, it means a different technique.
