Hi Misty,
Hope everything has gone well. You've been busy haven't you?
This clock I know. It's an Ansonia 8-day Time and Strike Crystal Regulator called the "Prism" made from brass and beveled glass panels with an open escapement. Circa 1914.
Looks complete. Do you run it?
Hi Bruce, Can't believe I was up and walking around (with no help) Sunday. It went really well but my husband wants me in bed til I go back to the Doctors on weds.Soooo when he's not home Iv'e been taking pics again.lol Yes I do run it but could not figure out why it didn't shine. Iy just looks dirty I only wipe it down with a damp cloth. Is that ok?
That's great Misty. The Brass tarnishes. Some collectors prefer it as a natural, age related "patina". Some collectors want their brass polished and lacquered. A slightly dampened cloth works well in either case. I really like Crystal Regulators and this is a nice one. Thanks for sharing it! :)
no no thank you for ALL the great info. geting tired of my clocks yet?
No, but you might want to pace yourself. You have a lot of them.
