    Having trouble identifying these andirons...They are brass 22.5 inches tall, penny feet, house where they were found dates 1820 or so. Can anyone identify, and should they be cleaned? They seem to have a nice disposition.

      Do the tops unscrew? I had a pair about 15 years ago that if you unscrewed the top they were marked where you wouldn't otherwise see the marking.
