This metal tray has an inscription on the back that reads"This beautiful tray is an exact reproduction of the original and famous Japanese Wood Model "San Toy". We ask you to accept it as a token of our sincere regard." Name of Brewery, Defaud Wine & Liquor Co "Our new store # 9 & 11 So. Third St. Minneapolis Mn. Below this is imprinted HENNEPIN BREWING CO. Defaud was in business from 1904 to 1918, Hennepin brewing closed with prohibition and evidently never reopened. Any further info would be greatly appreciated.

Its what they called a "stock tray" where the buyer (store,brewer,tavern) could buy them cheaper, as they were already printed. They simply personalized the back side with their name. There were a stack of these in a shop on the east side of St. Paul.
