I bought this open salt on a hunch that it could be Czech. It is is 2-1/4" in diameter across the rim (2-3/4" including the draped glass), and stands 1-5/8" high on hand-tooled feet. Opalescent white with applied Vaseline festoons and feet, it glows bright green under UV light.
It is not unusual for Czech glass to show up classified as British. The seller stated: "A similar piece with the draping at the rim is shown in plate 163 of "The Open Salt Compendium" by Jzyk & Robertson. The one in the book was shown in the Stourbridge catalog and is considered rare".
