While in Switzerland, I also picked up this great metal bottle/canister (flask?) painted a simple blue and white. The cork topper has an interesting metal fixture, and there's a small eyelet on the blue side for attaching a cord I imagine. It's a great little container for carrying liquid, but I almost prefer it for the bright color pop on my desk.
When I peeked underneath, I found the classic SIGG logo and Swiss cross, along with a "76" below. Does anyone know if that indicates 1976?
According to the SIGG website, the company was founded in 1908 in Biel, Switzerland and focused production specifically on its signature bottles beginning in 1999. However, my blue and white version seems to be a much earlier design than the new rounded screw-top bottles. I couldn't find another in this shape anywhere on the web, and would love if you have any more info!

Thanks Rob - there are some exact matches. I guess this was military issue, but I wonder if the blue and white are original now...
