This pocket watch was givin' to me, by my grandma. It was my great grandfathers pocket watch. My family on my mothers side, are from Sweden. That is where, I assume the watch came from. She told me, the covering was black gold and silver. It has a tortoise shell design on the cover. Open face, operates with 15 rubies. I'm curious how old it really is, and if it is gold plated or real gold. Also checking on , if we need to put insurance on it. How much insurance if so. Serial # 1823886. It would be really interesting to know, so we could share the information with our children and granchildren. Would appreciate the help , we have searched all over!!!!!! Thanks

very beautiful pocket watch:)
Have you ever saw another one like it? And do you have any information on it? We have been trying to research it for quite a while, and haven't come up with one just like it. We have found some similar, but nothing with the same design.
