This is a mid-to-late 1950's Fluid Bezard Compass Model II made by Lufft, Germany. It has the original box and instructions and comes in a brown leather pouch with cord. This is the military export version with the gradients in 6400 degrees. It has the two clips on the hinges which were used to fix a graduated ruler. It is stainless steel painted with a military green verdigris enamel. The instructions are stamped "Waffen-Lux Heidelberg" which means Weapons-Lux Heidelberg. This type was used by post-war German military, German border control, and also US Army Engineers.
