A very early decor. Bronze iridescence over red glass. Polished pontil. The first: 10" tall; the second, 8" tall. I also have the first in green Papillon. These early decors and shapes are quite well documented in the design book.

This decor is much richer in color saturation when viewed in person. And the Rubin color is much more uncommon than the "bronce" or "creta". Two great pieces.

Examples of this decor are indeed hard to come by. The decor name "Rubin Matteiris" doesn't seem to it justice though. When I purchased my first piece I didn't realize that the glass was rubin. Al told me to hold it up to the light and sure enough there was a bubble that let me see the red through the bronze matteiris finish. The rubin glass brings out amazing deep purples and gold highlights making these pieces look rich and exotic. Thanks for the compliment on the photos, T.
