When I first saw this I thought it was a solid wood faux maracas? But after looking at in detail, it can't be. This thing is most definatly handmade, and although my camera may not show it, each section is a different piece of wood, and it all fits together like a tight puzzle. You can very easily see it is handmade, because each piece is unique in size and shape. SOMEONE SPENT A LONG TIME MAKING THIS.....any idea who?

I guess I have more questions now, do you have any idea of it's worth if I were to sell it? I picked it up in a box of glassware I bought at an auction. I researched this a little, and it appears to be treen? Looks old, bu how old? Turn of the century? American made? I guess you just can't tell...

      Could this be Mauchline Ware?

A wonderful piece of craftsmanship, more than likely made as a wood turning project.

Yep....and Pea Coat buttons...(we would use dental floss because it's stronger than thread, and use an ink pen to darken the floss)...

Nice? It was critical! Spent 2 years in Yokosuka...checked out your collection, it was like looking at my own stuff! lol..knives, old watches, militaria, election pins....throw in some old bottles and I'd think you were my long lost twin....I guess they makes us squids all the same....thanks again for putting me on the trail with this one.
