I have seen many of these vases, lamp bases and bowls. It is an acid applied to the surface of the piece. somewhere between 1930-1950 is my guess, all with the same milk glass and crude wheel-cut edges. If anyone knows the maker please let me know. One of the pieces is marked EHD. They may not be the same maker
