I got this little doll from my mother who was born in Holland. My father bought them for her when he was there in the 2nd world war. I have been trying to research it but have had no luck. The only thing that it stamped on it is the word FOREIGN on the middle of the dolls back. I am not sure if it is bisque, ceramic or porcelain. It is only about 2 to 2 1/2 inches tall. If anyone have any ideas on where I could get some information on this doll I would greatly appreciate it.

You could e-mail me at kitten_5478@hotmail.com

    Thank you

She is a German or Japan bisque doll they both made these . Most collectors think they may have been a take off on Kewpie doll . These were popular into the 50's and as late as 1960's im celluloid as carnival dolls . Yours dates from 30's to 40's after that they were not made of bisque anymore . Very cute and were novelty dolls . They don't sell for much on market as they were mass produced by several compainies and are abundant . What a cherished item to have though ! She is so sweet :-)

Thank you so much for the information. I am pretty sure they are German. It was a set of three, all dressed in a different colour. Two of my brothers each have one as well.
