VINTAGE STELTON DENMARK CANDLE HOLDERS,

Stelton was founded in 1960 with the purpose of selling stainless steel hollowware like platters, salad bowls etc. A design policy was formulated in 1964 when the then administrative director Peter Holmblad established a cooperation with the leading Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen. The result was the now famous Cylinda-Line which was launched in 1967 and immediately attracted considerable attention for its serene and functionalist design.
After Arne Jacobsen´s death in 1971 a cooperation with the young designer Erik Magnussen was established. His first creation for Stelton was the stainless steel vacuum jug with the unique rocker stopper, which was introduced in 1977 - the best-selling article so far in the history of the company.
Three times Stelton has been awarded the "ID-prize" by the Danish Design Council and a number of Stelton products are exhibited in a.o. The Museum of Modern Art and The Cooper-Hewitt Museum, New York; Philadelphia Museum of Art; Victoria & Albert Museum and British Museum, London; Staatliches Museum für angewandte Kunst, Munich and Kunstindustrimuseet, Copenhagen.
