This is a really big clock, about 59" high and 20" wide, with an 18" dial. The clock appears to be an early version of the Regulator 31. There is no evidence that the clock had finials on top or the gallery on the bottom. The case is of oak and stained a weathered grey; I don't know if the finish is original, but is very old and is does not appear to be paint. I am apparently the 3rd owner. The clock originally hung in a jewelery store in Monterey, CA. and was acquired about 40 or more years ago by a lawyer who took the clock in trade for some legal work. The massive pendulum is a Zinc and Steel Compensation pendulum offered by Seth Thomas about 1907. The pendulum weighs 16 pounds! I even got the original key.
