Metal case with original black crinkle paint finish, cardboard dial, and wind-up movement. I cannot find a reference to this Gilbert clock model, but it appears identical to one pictured in Mark Stein's '20th Century Modern Clocks' under the Rex label. I believe these companies/brand names were associated.
