We bought this original antique, John William Godward print years ago from an antique dealer and I would be very grateful if someone could help me with some advice. I have searched the internet and know that his paintings go for allot of money but have not been able to find any old signed prints.
It is still in it's original frame.
Firstly what sort of print is it and I realize with it being a print this is not going to be worth allot of money! but as you can see it is suffering badly from foxing, my dilemma is it worth me spending the money on it and getting it restored, or should I just keep on enjoying it as it is.
Thank you for looking.

i love this very much what a very beautiful print:)
VERY NICE, I don't know the value of it restored or unrestored and if the difference would be cost effective, but if it were mine, I'd Hang this on my wall and enjoy it as is. This is a really neat print. LOVE it
I cannot say weather to restore or not, but you should certainly get it to a archival framer and have the wood backing removed and replaced with something proper or the foxing and damage will continue.
Gorgeous ! I would get it professionally reframed with acid free matting keeping the original wood back with label . I think they could probably get spots of with an artist eraser . But stunning as is :-) Love it !

One can tackle the foxing if they are pacient . Lemon juice applied with a cotton bud to very small areas. Not whole mark and indifferent parts of the print so as not to get it too wet and distort.
Some things on foxing

This is beautiful. I just bought 2 Art Noveau prints at an auction - I will post them up for you to see. You have a wonderful item regardless of whether you decide to restore or not. I have started to research my pieces so may come across yours too!

mustangtony..Thank you!...:-)
I love the print, Study of Campaspe, definitely worth putting some effort into restoring, just need to try and arrest the foxing to stop it getting worse. A rare piece especially with the signature. Good luck sorting it out!!
Many thanks Kitty!..I didn't want it to deteriorate more over time if it had been worth the cost of restoring, I always thought that maybe because it was signed it might have been, I just needed to make sure, if it wasn't I can still enjoy as is, it is lovely! Thank you once again......:-)
Thank you so much crabbykins!....:-)
Many thanks garrybeair - WinterWolf and happytobehere so! sorry for late acknowledgements!.......:-)
Thank you for your love jimborasco!....:-)
Worth restoring by a good paper person. Anything signed from the period and of this size and beauty would be worth it, in my opinion. But, I guess the decision for you should rest on whether you intend to resell it or not.
Thank you very much lisa and cogito for your comment and advise, it's appreciated I will enquire into the cost.
