This is one of my very favorite items I own. I do not know the year the lock dates to, but it's very old. Has everything going for it! Any comments about age, value, etc., would be welcome. Still researching it. What a beauty to look at, totally functional, just like the mailman used! I can't keep from just admiring it! In research, I found the last one sold on eBay in Dec. '08, but no price listed as sold for. Old stuff is COOL!!!

This street letterbox lock is still in use by USPS. Therefore, it isn't supposed to be privately owned. However, if you go to eBay and do a query for street letter box lock, you'll see these sold for about $50 to $75 with a key. There is about one per week listed, on the average.
