On the picture on the far left, the center screwdriver. Can you tell me how long it is?
It matches the center one in the last picture. Both have flat spots ,front and back, rather than being totally round handles. The first is 5 & 1/2 inches the second is 5 & 3/4 inches.
I love old tools so it is a pleasure to see your collection. You have so much stuff, how nice. Jan
In the first picture, #2 from the top I think is for cleaning oysters from the shell. I have one that I use once in a while for shaping epoxy filler, like clay.
In picture #3 I recognize the soldering iron, but I can't see what the tip of the tool above it looks like.
In picture # 1 the bottom tool I think is a scratch awl, and the # 3 down I beleive is an excessory for a stanley molding plane. Don't quote me on that.
5 1/4 inches over all, the blade is deeply cross hatched for 1 1/2 inches and smooth the last inch. The tip looks like it has been ground at home because it is non symetrical.
When you say cross hatched, is it like a file?
Yes, or a rasp. I dont know if it was intended as part of the use of the tool or decorative.
Find a need and fill it. Probably a special need tool.
True. He had 8 or 10 handles ready to receive a file or rasp or whatever he needed and in whatever size ! One handle is actually just a whittled piece of wood !
in the first picture there is an awl and what appers to be an old icepick i dont know the others in that photo but the second photo is lath tools used for shaping wood to make things like a baceballbat ot a table leg the 3rd pict is all screwdrivers thats all i can toll you cept they look like they come from the early 30's
Picture #1 second from botom looks like a "perfect handle" screwdriver if you wonna know more look here
