used for baking:)
Not a very helpful answer ! How in Baking. Grooves are too deep to be useful in spreading butter in pastery Making and would be at 90 degrees if used to assist in keeping a flat bread flat during baking !!
it is in the rolling pins , kitchen categories
If you 'google' vintage ribbed rolling pin you will get your answer.....:-)
ITS USED FOR MAKING PASTA :) SO I WAS SOME WHAT RIGHT SOMETHING TO DO EITHER WITH BAKING OR SOME KINDA OF KITCHEN USE:)
sorry about the caps
it has many uses in any kind of baking , not just for one certain thing, you could use it bars and cookies ,pies etc:) and yes pasta:)
Thanks for comments. I will go along with the pasta type use suggestion. My own reservation is that an extruder (Such as Potatoe ricer) is far more efficient and has been in use for a long time. Still at the back of my mind is the fine finish of a fancy starched dress collar. The ceramic construction would suggest temperature is a factor - either hot for starching or cold for cooking. Thanks again

pastry rolling pin that efficiently distributes butter through the layers of puff pastry
I agree with TallCakes. Using a ribbed cloth cover has the same effect and is easier to clean.
