I was out today driving around and stopped in this little town in Indiana. The store is only open on Saturday and Sunday. They always have an incredible inventory of some of the finest collectibles that I have ever seen. They pride themselves in quality. Something for everyones fix. Today was no different than any other time I have stopped. There it was looking at me when I walked in the store over in the corner. I made my best deal, paid the man and we loaded it up. Now it's with the other Coca-Cola items that I have collected. I think it's in pretty good shape for being old and had been out in the elements for years. The sign is dated A-M 1-56.

Nice Policeman crossing sign. I've owned a few of these. One was in worse condition than yours; the other, I picked up on craigslist (for $300) and was in mint condition. Yours is in pretty good condition. Most of the time, the backs are in bad shape. This condition sign is easily a $1,500 value. I know, I know...you paid less than half of that, right?

We have a crossing guard as well. Although the 'date' at the bottom is AM 108. So I'm not sure if that is truly a date. They might have been individually numbered?
No, it's not a date. 108 is not January 1908. It's more like an AM radio station. :)
Hello, Just had a couple questions regarding the Coke crossing guard sign...Is the underside of your base dated? Also, the difference between a repro and an original are the screws that hold together the 2 halves, correct. The repro will be huge grommets, with the orig being screws??? Any help would be most appreciated.

Thank you timekeeper for stopping by! I saw a repro the same day I found this one and it had flat head screws with a nuts on the end of it also. It's hard to explain but I could tell the difference from the original and the repro. Hope this helps but if not maybe the experts might chime in and give you better info to your question.
