I was working on a ship which was built in 1914, as the SS Medina. She was built in Newport News Shipbuilding Company. Through the years she had gone through 4 change of names, and 4 different companies. Now her name is MV Doulos. When I was on board as a junior deck officer, I have worked on many areas of the ship, since the ship was very old, there was loads of work to do.
One day I was cleaning up the 'stern flat' compartment (where the motor and power for the ship's rudder is situated), I found this ship's log under some pile of old equipment. I took it and has been with me ever since.

My question is: When was this manufactured and how old is it?
And secondly, how much is the value?
I noticed they are 'Dutch' wordings on it,..not sure whether it is Dutch! Maybe it was a remake of the original I don't know. Maybe someone knows its origin? Could someone share a light on this??? Thanks a ton!

Hi there, thanks for the 'enlightenment'!! Are you familiar with ship's log? How about that 'mijl' word there on the log face?? I presume it's 'mile' in English. Were there such thing as 'a reproduction of the original' in those days?? Thanks again.

Hi Robin. Haha ok..you've nailed it! I was wondering about that 'stray' word there. Thanks for that, put my mind at ease there.

Hi guys..Anyone know how to find how old this MK II Cherub log is?? Maybe the year it was made or time period it was produced? I'd appreciate if you could point me to a site or anyone who knows? Thanks.
