American knife co., Winsted, CT. There were two American knife companies in CT but only one was located in Winsted. Researching the company and sorting out who was where took a few minutes. With advise from AR8 on other knives I decided to look into this one. Unfortunately the handle is damaged. I am still at a loss to find the year this knife was made. I know it was made between 1919 and 1948 because in 1948 the business was sold and became Kendal Manufacturing Co. then the name changed again with months to Kubar Manufacturing Co. I haven't been able to find a picture of this knife or others who may have seen it. Any input will be appreciated.

Thanks for the input & loves AR8. Now I can put a name with it I may be able to find a picture and narrow down the date a bit more.
The info I got on the company was from a link on another site you had suggested previously. I believe people named Goins (spelling) wrote the article and they seemed to have quite detailed information.
I can mark this one solved and thank you again for the input.
