I have not been able to find another image of the Coppertone SunTan Lotion anywhere. All I find are products with the little girl and the dog pulling at her bathing suit bottom. The bottle with the Indian Chief logo with the slogan " Don't be a pale face" is the original prior to 1953 and as you can see it is still 3/4 full.
You are lucky to find bottles with labels and caps (and some product). Most of the bottles found are from "bottle pits" outside in dumps where the labels and caps have long corroded away. Check the bottoms for the bottle glass maker codes and any numbers. That will help determine their age.
Thanks for the info Mustangtony. From what I have found it has to be somewhere between 1944-1953.
I think plastic came around 1953, so a lot of companies changed to plastic bottles or at least plastic lids about then. Its too bad they didnt date their labels back then like they do now. Makes it real hard for us collectors trying to figure it out.
This bottle is actually glass but the cover is plastic.
Nice... All in mint shape !!!
