I've had this since I was a little boy, but never knew any particulars. There are no trademarks on it, and no model identification. I have some GAMA german trucks also, and I suspect this is German also, but who knows? It appears to be an early 50s Buick. Does anyone know what this jewel is or who made it?

This is a Opel rekord I beleive 1956, made by Yonezawa of Japan. It came in 2 two tone variations. 12" in length. It was either friction or battery drive and I beleive the button on the side turned on the headlights but maybe that was the on off for the BO drive?
My reference books say $3-400 in excellent cond and $500+ with box though I have seen auction results above that
Very nice item and especially with your provenance
Beautiful example of a well kept toy...
